Sometimes, the most powerful move forward is a full reset.
April is often described as a month of renewal, a time when nature reminds us that growth is always possible, even after long seasons of stillness.
This Easter weekend, I’ve been thinking about rhythm. About the seasons in our lives that invite us to pause, reflect, and reset. I’ve also been thinking about how sometimes, what we really need isn’t more pressure or pushing, but gentle permission to begin again.
We often think of growth as constant motion, building, creating, and achieving. But some seasons invite something softer, something deeper. Seasons that invite us to pause, reflect, and begin again if need be.
Recently, I found myself in one of those moments. Life had been full, quiet in some ways, but rich and meaningful behind the scenes. During this time, I realized how necessary it is to not only rest, but to reset.
Here are a few of my reflections from this time of intentional pause, reconnection, re-alignment, and reset.
Reflect, Reset, Rise: Growth, Grace, and New Beginnings
1. Why We Need Safe Spaces for Real Talk and Growth
On April 12th, I met with some incredible women from Nawiri, my private community, for a lunch meetup in Nairobi. What started as a 3-hour lunch meeting ended well past 8pm!
We talked about the things we rarely speak about in public: our Q1 failures, the wins we were proud of, and the lessons that left a mark. We laughed, teared up, and held space for each other in ways that felt both brave and beautiful.
It was a powerful reminder of why Nawiri exists. It is a safe, sacred space where women can connect deeply, grow authentically, and rise together.
Success doesn’t feel as fulfilling when it’s lonely. And growth doesn’t have to happen in isolation.
We live in a world that often applauds the polished version of ourselves. But real transformation happens when we’re honest. When we take off the mask, show up fully, and share our behind-the-scenes.
Such transformation happens easily in spaces where you can be your full, unfiltered self. Spaces where you don’t have to shrink, perform, or pretend.
Every woman needs a space where she can:
- Dream bigger with support.
- Break down without judgment.
- Be seen, heard, and understood.
- Learn from others walking a similar path.
- Celebrate wins without shame or shrinking herself.
That’s what Nawiri is for me and the women in it. We’re not meant to do life or leadership alone, and Nawiri is a powerful circle of growth, vulnerability, and collective wisdom.
Want to be a part of Nawiri?
If you’re craving authentic connection, deeper conversations, and a community of purpose-driven women who are growing, building, healing, and rising together, Nawiri might be the space you’ve been looking for.
This community is more than just a network. It’s a movement of women committed to growth, clarity, and success on their own terms.
We have physical Nawiri meetups on the last Saturday of March, June, and September, and a 2-3 day annual retreat in November. And if you can’t join us, maybe this is the nudge to find or create a similar space because you deserve to be in a community where your growth is nurtured and celebrated.

2. Relationships, Connection & Intentional Living
I also spent time with my parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and the little ones who always bring joy. It was fun, grounding, and energizing in ways I didn’t know I needed.
In the whirlwind of building a business, launching projects, and chasing purpose, it’s easy to get lost in the “doing.” Sometimes, I find myself so deeply immersed in work that I forget how important it is to pause, put the to-do list aside, and reconnect with the people that matter most to me.
Family grounds me. It reminds me of who I am beyond the titles, the goals, and the checklists. This year, I’m consciously making space for these relationships by choosing to create memories, not just milestones.
The time I spent with family was part of my deeper emotional reset. It was a reminder to share my life journey and growth with loved ones because real success isn’t just about what we build. It’s also about who we’re becoming along the way, and the people we choose to share that journey with.
There’s power in balancing big goals with big love
As we work on our goals, we need to remember that:
- Success is not just what you achieve, but who you become while achieving it.
- Love and relationships fuel us in ways ambition never will.
- Rest and reconnection are not distractions. They are sacred necessities.
It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle when you’re working toward your big goals, but it’s also important to remember that we don’t have to go it alone.
Family and friends offer emotional support, encouragement, and a space where we can just be ourselves, without the pressure of “performing” or “achieving.”
As you chase your big dreams, ask yourself:
- How can I intentionally invest in the people who are my biggest supporters?
- How often do I pause to be present with the people who give me strength?
- What memories am I creating today that will fuel me and that I’ll treasure tomorrow?
- What can I do to create moments of connection with those I love, even during busy seasons?
Your relationships are not distractions from your growth. They are part of your growth.
Remember to check in with the people who matter most. Give them your time, your love, and your presence. You’ll be amazed at how these connections can fuel your journey in ways you didn’t expect.
Why does this matter?
Success is about more than just accomplishing your goals. It’s about living a life where the things that matter most, such as relationships, connection, and love, stay in focus as you pursue your ambitions.
We can get so fixated on the next big thing that we forget the people who support us and offer us the most meaningful moments. These relationships give us the fuel we need to keep going, but they also keep us rooted in what matters.
3. A Courageous Leap: Saying Yes to Visibility
Sometimes, the reset we need calls us to step up, not just step back. One of the biggest moments of this season was saying “Yes” to being interviewed by Edith Karimi on her YouTube channel, The Woman Experience.
It was a vulnerable, bold, leap off the cliff moment for me, because it was completely outside my comfort zone. But it was also transformational.
In showing up fully, vulnerably, and authentically, I stepped into a new version of myself. I also feel as if I stepped into a new level of clarity, confidence, and courage.
4. Creativity, Purpose & Building New Things
In my business, I’ve been working inside Elevate Mastermind. This is a space where solopreneurs (myself included) are creating e-courses that launch this year.
We’re not just creating products; we’re creating impact, legacy, and semi-passive income streams that give us more freedom and focus.
I’ll share more about this soon. For now, I’m grateful for the reminder that creativity thrives when we’re aligned, rested, and intentional.
5. What This Season Has Taught Me
All of this has reminded me that growth doesn’t always look like hustle.
- Sometimes, it looks like rest.
- Sometimes, it looks like showing up for a friend.
- At other times, it looks like saying yes to something that scares you.
- And there are times when it’s a slow, intentional return to your rhythm.
Rest. Reconnection. Re-alignment. A brave “yes.”
So whenever you’re reading this, whether you’re in a season of ease or uncertainty, know that it’s never too late to reflect, reset, and rise again.
Ask yourself:
- What needs a gentle reset in your life?
- Which rhythms do you want to return to?
- What seeds are you planting today for the future you want, 5, 10, 20 years from now?
The future doesn’t just happen. We create it through daily choices, courageous alignment, and consistent rhythm.
Over to You…
